Do you ever see something and think to yourself, damn...that was sick, wish I had thought of it? Well, I constantly have that thought. CONSTANTLY. Sadly, some of my creativity is driven out by jealousy of other people's more phenomenal, more innovative and more talented thought proccesses.

Check this out. It's perfect in time for Halloween, a sweet treat of clever and creative juices.

In other news, Sarah's late-night laptop theatre presents: Memoirs of a Geisha. When I first saw it, all I could focus on was their poor unification of accents and the fact that it was in English. Sad, but true. I rewatched it a few nights ago. Wow, different opinion all together. I think I'm becoming more and more aware of "beauty" in any context. The beauty of the secrecy and tradition that was the life of a Geisha. The beauty of kindness between strangers. The beauty of time and skill in creating a beautiful kimono. The beauty of culture. This movie was so inspiring, not really because of the story, but more for what it portrayed. I'm always so curious about things that I'm so far removed from. Secrets? I want in. I did a bunch of research about Geisha's (and by a bunch, I mean wikipedia and other shady online sources) and wanted to learn more about what I'd been missing. The evolution of culture is so intriguing to me. How did the Geisha beauty come to be? Why did it only develop in parts of Japan? Why does American beauty suckkk? So many questions, so little answers...a whole lot more research and snooping to be done. And off I go...

Things I've been laughing at:
1. Play this. Not kidding.
2. Worst Fight Scene Ever!

Things I've been oogling:
1. Isolation?
2. Colors

Much love friends.

Good Morning! It's been a couple of days, I apologize!  The week has been absolutely hectic and I haven't had the chance to enjoy the smaller things in life...
The three albums that have been in constant rotation include:

  • Know Better. Learn Faster. - Thao and the Get Down Stay Down
  •  Rubber Factory - The Black Keys
  • Album - Girls
All three come with completely different sounds and feel.  Know Better. Learn Faster. is the latest release from Thao and her husky voice and catchy songs are listenable and apparently about "sad sex."  I'll let you guys listen and explore for yourselves.  I simply recommend the Black Keys because the mixture of pure rock, garage, and blues is the perfect soundtrack to your day driving around, doing whatever the fuck you want, all while having a cigarette dangle from your lips (if that's a habit of your's, insert any appropriate action if not...) The last album was released earlier this month from San Francisco up-and-comers Girls.  Fronted by the enigmatic and approachable Christopher Owens, Album features a lot of songs about the namesake of the band.  With the names of possible lovers or friends, Owens' voice is a breath of fresh air as it hiccups and croons about lost opportunities or whatever hopes he can attain.  The sound is perfect for a day on the West Coast, with surfer rockabilly undertones.  And if you haven't learned about Owens' background, definitely do explore any more articles about him, oh what a life he's had....

My attempt at album reviews: mediocre.  But DO, give these bands a shot.  Open up the gates and let the new sounds in.

that's all that i really have for now.  I'm sorry, this is a short and quick update.  But more to come!  have a lovely weekend, week, and life. take care and always love!

I'm currently watching a Chick-Flick and nomming on Chick-Fil-A, the usual Saturday afternoon lounge sesh. Today's is well deserved: This morning I woke up at 7 to paint a wall in the gallery for my upcoming (and first!) show that K so kindly advertised.

So, K. and I consider ourselves to be expert loungers. Thanks to the help of new technology, we reign supreme in our ability to comfortably (and usually adjacently) relax, revive and ravinize nearby food. The new technology I'm referring to?
The Snuggie.
Sure sure sure, we've all made fun of it. The commercials are dumb. The actors are dumb. The concept is...well...brilliant. It's a perfect fit for those lazy-loungers. Why opt for socks, sweats, AND a sweatshirt for optimum coverage when you could just grab a snuggie? It's quick, it's easy and if you get too hot, just pull your arms out of the sleeves and it's perfect!

I was hesitant of the snuggie unti I actually received one.

Look how versatile it is! You can wear it like a wizard's robe and do a little strip tease, or wear it classically and really really feel the beauty that is the perfect lounge sesh. So I ask that you just...reevaluate what you thought about this piece of cloth.

"Swallowing words while giving head..."
One of my favorite music videos.  From their 2002 album 'You Forgot It in People', this is a Broken Social Scene song that always puts me at ease but still brings out a whole bunch of emotions and you cannot help but think about past, present, and future loves, from their greatness to their flaws.  Even though some lines can be appear to be more straight forward than others, it's always interesting to push things further, no?
On another note, the other half of KKW is going to be M.I.A. due to the fact that she is having her first gallery showing this week!  Congrats to her and another student photographer, Hannah K.  Collective Perceptions is a collaborative show featuring nature/landscapes by Hannah and portraiture by W.  It shall be displayed from Tuesday, the 20th of October until Wednesday, the 4th of November in Chapman University's Guggenheim Gallery Project Room.  For more info...comment!

Take care and always love -K.

"One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire Cat in a tree. "Which road do I take?" she asked. "Where do you want to go?" was his response. 'I don't know,' Alice answered. 'Then,' said the cat, 'it doesn't matter.' --Lewis Carroll
yeah, I did it.  I'm part of the Alice in Wonderland hype machine.
